Staff Technical Product Manager, Platform Engineering

The Dublin-based team will play a critical role in our continued digital transformation and will function as a center of excellence for SiriusXM’s global Product and Technology organization. SiriusXM’s new Dublin facility will comprise a workforce primarily focused on software development, automotive technology and engineering, AdTech, data science, and analytics. Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM’s streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms.
Role Overview: The Platform Engineering team is looking for a Staff Technical Product Manager to further its mission of empowering SiriusXM engineers to create, deliver, and operate high quality software quickly, securely, reliably, and cost-effectively. We are responsible for defining and implementing the overall company-wide cloud strategy and providing an internal developer platform consisting of the tooling, configuration, and best practices related to foundational account infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, observability and incident management, and overall developer experience. This role will help build the technology foundation for the next generation of products across SiriusXM and Pandora. One of our key organizational principles is “platform as a product,” recognizing that our developer platform should be treated as a set of products offered to our thousand-plus internal customers, rather than a running backlog of technical support requests. The perfect fit for this role is someone excited about driving that approach as we build a low-friction, highly productive platform for our users.
What you’ll do:
1. Report to the Platform Engineering product lead
2. Contribute to the org-wide product strategy
3. Own prioritization and the roadmap for one or more Platform Engineering domains
4. Define product requirements and articulate them to teams and stakeholders
5. Interact with our customers to gather input and feedback and conduct user research
6. Help define, track, and review key metrics related to the success of our platform initiatives
7. Stay abreast of industry trends and propose adoption of new technologies and techniques
8. Build strong relationships with teams across engineering, product, finance, and more
9. Become a subject matter expert and evangelist for the platform
What you’ll need:
1. 8+ years of experience in a technical role in software development organizations, including at least 3 years as a product manager
2. Strong product management skills
3. Experience managing products as a product manager where the users are developers or other highly technical roles
4. Ability to articulate technical concepts and requirements to audiences with varying roles and degrees of technical understanding
5. Excellent organizational and communication skills
6. Extra credit: Experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, SRE, or similar technical role
7. Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, DevOps methodology, and internal developer platforms
8. Experience working with teams operating in a cloud-based (AWS, GCP, Azure) environment
9. Experience with AWS
10. Experience with Datadog
11. Experience managing the roadmap for products whose users are internal to the company
