The Role and Key Responsibilities
We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for a newly qualified or late-stage part-qualified accountant who preferably has industry experience and is eager to develop their skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
This role offers the chance to develop your expertise in Financial Operations, work closely with stakeholders, and utilise modern reporting tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
1. Manage the organisation’s billing processes, liaising with customers and business leads to ensure invoices are issued accurately and on time.
2. Collaborate with internal teams to streamline billing and collection procedures.
3. Support the Senior Management Accountant in providing quality management information to stakeholders.
4. Assist with month-end and year-end closing, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
5. Assist with the Treasury process and provide back-up to the Treasurer where required.
6. Utilise Excel for data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
7. Provide back-up for AP Accounts Assistant.
Experience and Requirements
1. Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
2. Previous experience in an industry-based accounting role is preferable.
3. Strong understanding of billing, collections, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
4. Proficiency in Excel.
5. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to improving processes.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
8. Experience with financial systems; knowledge of Business Central is an advantage.
9. Familiarity with data analytical tools for reporting and data visualisation is an advantage.
