The Operational Development Manager will lead efforts to align internal processes and ways of working within a large-scale ecommerce transformation program. This role focuses on identifying continuous improvement opportunities and implementing them in close cross-functional collaboration with UX, Product, Marketing Operations, and IT partners. The successful candidate will standardize and improve internal processes, workflows, reports, and artefacts, while actively managing the “ways of working” flow of the business teams and coordinating with all participating teams. This role will also involve making recommendations for operational and organizational changes to enhance efficiency and productivity within the Product Development Cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement:
1. Develop, implement, and maintain standardized internal processes, workflows, reports, and artefacts.
2. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
3. Establish and maintain documentation for processes and workflows to ensure consistency and scalability.
2. Coordination and Collaboration:
4. Actively manage the ways of working flow, ensuring seamless coordination among all participating teams including UX, Product, Marketing Operations, and IT.
5. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to identify and resolve operational bottlenecks.
6. Serve as the main point of contact for process-related inquiries and issues.
3. Operational and Organizational Recommendations:
7. Analyze current operational practices and recommend changes to improve efficiency and productivity.
8. Propose organizational changes that align with the goals of the ecommerce transformation program.
9. Implement approved recommendations and monitor their impact on operational performance.
4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
10. Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of processes and improvements.
11. Create and present regular reports on process performance, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for further improvement.
12. Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and prioritize initiatives.
5. Change Management:
13. Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes and ways of working – if appropriate in close collaboration with assigned OCM partners.
14. Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate teams on new processes and tools.
15. Provide ongoing support and guidance to teams during transition periods.
6. Stakeholder Engagement:
16. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to drive alignment and support for process improvement initiatives.
17. Communicate effectively with senior leadership, providing updates on progress and impact of operational changes.
18. Gather feedback from stakeholders to continuously refine and improve processes.
Qualifications:
19. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
20. Proven experience in operational development, process improvement, or a similar role within a large-scale ecommerce or digital transformation environment.
21. Strong understanding of UX, Product Development, and/or Marketing Operations processes.
22. Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
23. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
24. Proficiency in process mapping and improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
25. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
26. Proficiency in using data analysis and reporting tools to monitor performance and inform decision-making.
