St. Joseph's Foundation is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive services for people with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1968, the Foundation has grown through continuously responding to the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
The Foundation provides services to children and adults through day services, residential, respite care, and home support in the North Cork and South West Limerick region. We have day and residential services in various locations in the North Cork and South Limerick area; such as Charleville, Dromina, Newtownshandrum, Buttevant, Newmarket, Mitchelstown, and Mallow, in Limerick; Ballylanders, Ballyagran, Bruree, Bruff, Croom, Dromcollogher, Granagh, Kilmallock, and Liskennett.

The ideal Candidate will have:
1. Minimum FETAC Level 5 Health Care Assistant or equivalent in a relevant healthcare discipline.
2. Excellent interpersonal and IT skills.
3. Excellent oral, verbal, and written English communication skills.
4. Experience working with children with disabilities.
Purpose of the Post: To work as a member of the interdisciplinary team under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional, providing assistance with the provision of therapy services to children attending Early Intervention and School Age services on a Children's Disability Network Team.
Location: Mallow
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Follow established standard operating procedures, policies, protocols, and guidelines, including those related to Quality and Safety management systems.
2. Engage in the Performance Appraisal and Supervision processes.
3. Maintain awareness of the confidential nature of the work, particularly regarding the rights of service users to privacy.
4. Remain adaptable and provide support to all departments when requested by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or the Children's Disability Network Manager (CDNM).
5. Attend and actively participate in meetings, reviews, and committees as necessary.
6. Seek and offer guidance for work tasks, including those involving co-workers and volunteers.
7. Establish and maintain positive communication channels with relevant stakeholders, and assist service users in effectively communicating, acknowledging their need for alternative communication methods.
8. Clearly communicate any observations or concerns that may impact service users or the safe operation of the service.
9. Execute therapy programs under the supervision of a qualified therapist.
10. Assist with the moving and handling of children, including helping them in and out of equipment (e.g., wheelchair, stander).
11. Change and dress children as needed.
12. Support individual and group activities as required, such as therapy sessions, hydrotherapy sessions, Smart Moves Group, and Get Set for School Groups.
