Job Description:
The Accountant will be part of a team and report to the Head of Finance. Key responsibilities include supporting senior Finance colleagues in financial planning and performance management, managing finance staff, financial systems, and data, and completing annual estimates and service planning processes.
Detailed Responsibilities
* Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date Pay & Numbers Strategy framework
* Supporting the Head of Finance in ensuring timely access to financial information for budget holders
* Providing analytical input to Service Improvement and Cost Containment plans
* Maintaining Internal Financial Controls, including compliance with Procurement Rules and National Financial Regulations
* Engagement with Internal Audit and implementation of recommendations
* Management of stocks, debtors, and cash
* Maintenance of the financial risk register
Requirements
* Membership of a recognised or prescribed accountancy body
* Record of achievement in a senior financial analysis/reporting role within a large complex organisation
* Understanding and experience of finance and budgeting systems in a large computerised organisation
* High-level user experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial system software
* Strong Experience of strategic financial management and financial planning
* Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
