Position Overview:
As a Maintenance Technician at WuXi Biologics Dundalk, you will support both routine and non-routine maintenance activities within the two Manufacturing organizations. Reporting to the Maintenance Shift Lead, you will play a crucial role in the Manufacturing team. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and supporting upstream and downstream process equipment, process support equipment (such as Parts-Washers and Autoclaves), and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide troubleshooting support for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and CPU-based systems, including the use of lean problem-solving tools.
* Work shifts according to the site's 24/7 policy to provide necessary production coverage.
* Perform and document scheduled preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on plant machinery, equipment, and other systems in accordance with cGMP and engineering excellence.
* Provide overall daily production support, ensuring safe plant operations and always maintaining personnel and product safety.
* Support capital projects as needed, contributing to project scope work, and participating actively in associated projects to improve and sustain equipment efficiencies.
* Participate in equipment failure investigations to determine root causes, providing ideas for improvement, initiating deviations and ERs as required, and supporting plant operations as needed.
* Be a key player within the maintenance team to drive improvements in operational equipment efficiencies and execute continuous improvement projects as required.
* Support the Equipment Maintenance Engineers and Reliability Engineers in implementing improvement projects, working closely with the team to achieve timelines and key project milestones.
* Ensure regulatory compliance with applicable Standard Procedures, Policies, and Regulations.
* Manage all maintenance activities safely, fully adhering to safety protocols including LOTO, confined space entry, and other safety standards. Always advocate and maintain high safety standards.
* Work closely with the manufacturing organization to ensure the status of all plant equipment and systems is communicated and always understood.
* Complete all engineering work orders and planned maintenance activities thoroughly, ensuring high data integrity. Drive compliance with critical PMs and carry out all associated activities as per the work orders or workload distribution.
* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in all work areas, workshops, and toolboxes.
* Support and actively participate in all training activities as directed by the manufacturing team.
* Perform all duties in accordance with GMP requirements, SOPs, and controlled documents.
* Be flexible in taking on additional tasks and responsibilities such as planning activities.
* Act as a role model for the Manufacturing function and the wider organization, adhering to WuXi corporate core values and the PROUD culture.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
* Third level Qualification in Science, Engineering, or equivalent electrical/fitter qualification
Experience:
* Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
* Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and CPU-based systems troubleshooting capabilities.
* Willingness to learn and adopt reliability concepts and technologies, and an understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with pharmaceutical equipment and in a pharmaceutical environment.
* Experience with facility start-up projects (brownfield or greenfield) is desirable.
* Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry is desirable.
