About Your New Job
As a Mechanical Chargehand, you will be responsible for supervising and managing on-site mechanical works, ensuring all activities meet the highest standards. You will work closely with site managers, project managers, and tradespeople to ensure the timely and successful completion of mechanical tasks. Your role will involve overseeing daily operations from an engineering perspective, ensuring quality control, and managing day-to-day site activities. Your job duties will include:
* Supervising and coordinating the activities of mechanical tradespeople and subcontractors.
* Ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards and maintaining a site diary.
* Attending and participating in internal and external meetings with stakeholders.
* Assisting in managing project variations in conjunction with the Project Manager (PM) and Quantity Surveyor (QS).
* Overseeing the completion of labour allocation sheets by subcontractors.
* Developing and implementing daily action plans.
What Skills & Requirements You Need
* A degree/certification in construction or mechanical engineering.
* Comprehensive experience working in a building services role for an M&E contractor, Main Contractor, or an M&E Consultancy.
* Excellent knowledge of building services with a particular emphasis on plumbing and HVAC.
* Proven supervisory and leadership skills.
* Quality communication and organizational abilities.
