A senior R&D opportunity exists for a candidate looking to lead the research and development of new product platforms in a growing team.
The role combines project management, applied research, and technical laboratory skills to drive innovation and create new products.
This is an active lab position requiring passion for innovation, extensive cross-functional engagement, and creativity.
The ideal candidate will be multifaceted, driving multiple new product initiatives to deliver global ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead R&D activities, including chemical, formulation, and microbiological aspects of renovation and innovation projects.
* Develop and implement R&D project plans and goals, identifying critical tasks and priorities.
* Manage projects using project management tools, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
* Collaborate with the R&D team to develop new product formulations and attributes.
* Design and implement laboratory screening methods and analytical testing capabilities.
* Communicate R&D results to stakeholders, including senior leadership via reports and presentations.
* Manage day-to-day R&D lab operations, including materials ordering, storage, and SDS management.
* Scale up approved formulations, identify critical process variables, and provide input on production equipment.
* Solve technical issues through creative problem-solving and troubleshooting.
* Work independently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
* Write and review procedures, protocols, specifications, and reports.
* Develop business partnerships with functions such as marketing, demand, technical, packaging, regulatory, and quality.
About You:
* Honours Bachelor's degree in science (chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, or chemical engineering).
* At least 5 years of experience in R&D, innovation, or product development.
* Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, analytical and organisational abilities.
* Working knowledge of cosmetic ingredients and packaging, lab equipment, analytical methods, and Design for Manufacturing principles.
* Familiarity with regulatory and compliance guidelines within the cosmetic industry.
* Proficiency in IT and analytical tools, software utilising Teams, Microsoft Office, Excel, and databases.
