Clinical Specialist Speech & Language Therapist
We are seeking a Clinical Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) for Stroke Services to join our client who specialises in acute services in Louth. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the assessment and rehabilitation of stroke patients across acute and rehabilitation settings.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care while working within a multidisciplinary team. The role will focus on assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for communication and swallowing disorders in stroke patients, contributing to improved patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities for Clinical Specialist Speech & Language Therapist
* Conduct specialist assessments and interventions for stroke patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
* Provide expert clinical decision-making in complex cases.
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams in acute and rehabilitation settings.
* Develop care pathways that optimise patient recovery.
* Support service development, clinical research, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to SLT colleagues.
* Stay up to date with best practices and emerging research in stroke rehabilitation.
Requirements of the Clinical Specialist Speech & Language Therapist
* CORU registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
* Minimum 5 years post-registration experience, including 4 years in stroke rehabilitation.
* Recognised dysphagia qualification in line with IASLT standards.
* Experience in Videofluoroscopic Swallowing Studies (VFS) is desirable.
* Strong clinical leadership, research, and service development experience.
* Access to own transport is desirable.
