The Boning Hall Production Manager in ABP Bandon reports directly to the Assistant Boning Hall Manager. The Boning Hall Production Manager is a key member of the management team and will work closely with the Boning Hall Manager and Assistant Boning Hall Manager, along with other senior managers within ABP Bandon to set the strategic direction and deliver on its strategic objectives in the context of the overall ABP Ireland and Poland group strategy.
The Boning Hall Production Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of production targets, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the production line, and maintaining product quality. They will oversee all Boning Hall employees, ensuring consistency and compliance with boning, butchering, trimming, and packing requirements for premium cuts of meat for sale and consumption, while maintaining strict timetables. Additionally, the Boning Hall Production Manager will coordinate department activities to produce products to agreed quantities and deadlines in a clean and hygienic environment, ensuring food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality.
In addition, the Boning Hall Production Manager will have responsibility for continuous improvement and the development of the Boning Hall production team. They will play a key role in implementing performance development plans for the team each year for the further expansion of the site production team.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ensure that production/workload is produced with the utmost efficiency and target yields attained, and product is dispatched correctly and on time to customers.
2. Plan and assist relevant supervisors to achieve workloads throughout all relevant areas.
3. Utilize staff and capital resources effectively.
4. Ensure that product is produced to customer specifications and quality.
5. Maintain a working knowledge of the ABP operations manual.
6. Ensure adherence to rules of employment, including absenteeism and holiday procedures.
7. Liaise with subcontractors supplying labor to ensure compliance with company procedures.
8. Ensure all staff in the boning hall adhere to hygiene practices and company policy.
9. Liaise with the Food Safety Officer to ensure production compliance.
10. Maintain personal hygiene while on the premises.
11. Ensure staff compliance with the Company Health & Safety policy.
12. Monitor processes, materials, or surroundings to detect or assess problems.
13. Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
14. Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts.
15. Identify training needs and instruct others.
16. Schedule events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.
17. Apply knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
18. Identify projects across the Boning Hall Production as part of the continuous improvement program, including technology and slaughtering systems to streamline business processes and enhance customer service while maintaining effective control frameworks.
19. Use Strive and Success Factors for performance management to discuss professional and personal development opportunities with the team.
20. Utilize Lean tools to keep colleagues and team members informed and engaged.
21. Manage and support teams to ensure staff receive continuing training and development.
22. Other duties as assigned.
