Permanent, Part-Time Position (0.6 FTE)
Applications are invited for the post of permanent part-time psychiatric/mental health nurse, in a 0.6 FTE role, working at the Student Health Unit in the University of Galway. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed psychiatric/mental health nurse to join our dedicated student health team of consultant psychiatrist, GPs, nurses, mental health support worker, physiotherapist and administrative staff. Reporting to the Medical Director of Student Health Unit, and practising with the clinical support and supervision of our consultant psychiatrist, the successful candidate will be expected to deliver expert clinical care, ensuring the delivery of a safe, high-quality psychiatric/mental health nurse service for students at the University of Galway.
Candidates must be registered/eligible for registration on the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), with at least 3 years post-registration experience in the field being desirable. Post-graduate qualification/experience of working in community-based setting and/or previous experience working closely with students/young adults, is also desirable. The appointee will be expected to have a team-orientated approach and be committed to lead in engaging with the wider student welfare team, to provide unified mental health care to our students.
