About the Role
The Lab Manager will oversee a team of laboratory technicians, focusing on designing, setting up, and executing performance and functional testing for critical cooling equipment manufactured for data centers. Additionally, this role involves conducting customer-requested performance testing, developing testing procedures, and creating high-quality test reports. The Lab Manager will collaborate closely with design, applications, and electrical engineering teams to ensure all testing requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily laboratory operations and personnel effectively.
- Ensure lab equipment is properly maintained, including chillers, boilers, generators, electrical & control systems.
- Coordinate the lab schedule based on project deadlines, customer test requirements, and resource availability.
- Design and implement tests for HVAC equipment, including installing new lab test equipment as necessary.
- Conduct thorough tests on HVAC equipment, encompassing chilled water systems, refrigeration systems, fans, and electrical systems.
- Generate detailed and accurate reports on testing, providing constructive feedback to other engineering departments.
- Manage maintenance contacts for laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to ensure all laboratory instruments are calibrated and available for use, meeting testing requirements.
