Applications are invited for an appointment as Programme Director, Assistant Secretary, 1 FTE, SPC at BioInnovate in University of Galway. This post is being offered as a specific purpose contract and will terminate by reason of the expiry of its specific purpose. It is anticipated that the duration of this assignment will be circa 5 years.
University of Galway has emerged as a world leader in medtech innovation education and training through the BioInnovate Ireland programme. BioInnovate Ireland has trained more than 150 Fellows and has led to the creation of 33 Irish startups that have raised over €300 million.
The BioInnovate Innovator’s Initiative training programme will create cohorts of highly skilled innovators who can observe and identify unmet market needs within medtech and digital health, identified as specific sectors of growth in Ireland. The Programme offers an opportunity for observation of real needs in their immersive environment and the use of a design methodology, which will be supported to generate new product and process ideas, new IP, and in some cases, the creation of high-potential-start-ups (HPSUs). The BioInnovate Innovator’s Initiative Programme will have primary affiliation with the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences and work closely with the College of Science and Engineering.
Salary: €109,327 - €125,102 (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011) and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University’s Remuneration policy. This appointment will be made on the Assistant Secretary payscale in line with current Government pay policy.
