Job Description:
To ensure accuracy, completeness and timely processing of all related transactions in the General Accounting team in accordance with the Internal and External Accounting Guidelines for the Shared Service Centre (SSC).
Key responsibilities include:
1. Create and post GL journals as appropriate
2. Month-end US GAAP reporting
3. Preparation of relevant balance sheet account reconciliations
4. Review of P&L for reasonableness and accuracy/cost centre reporting
5. Review bank reconciliations as appropriate
6. Work with large volumes of data and analyse same
7. Manage and generate manual recharges
8. Quarterly and ad hoc Corporate schedules
9. Fully responsible for BS accounts including all reconciliations and monitoring
10. Preparation of Annual Operating Plan and management of budgets throughout the year
11. Manage interaction with Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable departments to ensure resolution of issues
12. Responsible for producing local statutory audit files and statutory financial statements for EMEA jurisdictions including robust bridge reconciliations between US GAAP and Local GAAP & maintenance of excellent professional relationship with external statutory auditors
13. Assume responsibility for Intercompany balances and resolution of all intercompany differences in an appropriate and timely manner
14. Assume responsibility for ensuring all intercompany transactions are supported by agreements
15. Understand and support execution of tax computations in line with ASC740 for US GAAP and also local tax return requirements
16. Ensure Internal Audits are completed in line with audit scope and all requirements completed in a timely manner
17. Involvement in Sarbanes Oxley requirements across the Shared Service Centre
18. Responsible for the delivery of excellent customer service through a partnership with key business unit finance staff and delivery of high-quality service levels to both the business unit and division
19. Uphold professional internal relationships with various departments within the SSC and with the outsourced Accenture team, in order to fulfill the requirement of the role
20. Participation in key SSC projects & initiatives, including Corporate Balance Sheet reviews
Qualifications
Essential
1. Qualified Accountant
2. US GAAP experience
3. Statutory accounts & audit experience
4. Sarbanes Oxley experience
5. ERP Systems experience
6. Proven track record in a business partnership
7. High volume reconciliation experience
8. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
9. Excellent knowledge of GA processes and procedures
10. Strong Analytical skills
11. Fully competent in Microsoft Excel
12. Good attendance and timekeeping record
13. Technically competent
14. Fluency in English
Desirable
1. Previous exposure to a culturally diverse working environment
2. Ability to speak more than one major European language
3. Shared Service Centre exposure
4. Advanced excel and Macros
