Opportunity for an M&E Resident Engineer, with specific Water project expertise, for a Client based role in County Meath, reviewing, advising and supervising MEICA Project installations.
Due to ongoing contract awards, our Global Clients have a requirement for MEICA Engineers to join their team and supervise Water Projects in the Meath region.
To be considered, you should be able to demonstrate previous experience in either the design, construction or commissioning of MEICA Projects at typical Water facilities, such as Reservoir refurbishment, Water Rehabilitation, Pumping Stations, Water and Treatment Plants etc.
As M&E Resident Engineer you will:
1. Specialise in Mechanical & Electrical elements of the works.
2. Driving delivery of projects onsite on behalf of Uisce Éireann, with a particular focus on health & safety, the time for delivery, cost management and ensuring that the project is constructed to the specified quality standard.
3. Ensuring that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract documents (works requirements).
4. Ensuring that all materials incorporated into the permanent work, and all workmanship are executed in accordance with the applicable specification, as set out in the works requirements, and that required testing is carried out.
5. Monitoring and reporting on works being carried out to the Employer’s Requirements.
6. Ensuring that the employer’s representative, the relevant project manager and Uisce Éireann are fully informed of all issues arising on site.
7. Implementing Uisce Éireann’s safety policies and standards on the construction projects.
8. Reviewing and commenting on project/site specific HSQE documentation, e.g. RAMS, TMP etc.
9. Monitoring compliance with contract health and safety requirements and contractor’s proposals.
10. Carry out weekly documented health and safety site reviews, follow up and confirm satisfactory close out of health and safety issues.
11. Ensuring that any accident or incident on site, no matter how minor, is reported to Uisce Éireann, and actively assist with the accident investigation and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
12. Actively participating in Uisce Éireann HSQE team monthly inspections and confirming satisfactory close out of any issues identified.
Desired Experience:
13. At least 7 years’ postgraduate experience, with 4 years’ industry experience in site supervision, contract administration and project management of MEICA works on water engineering projects.
14. A Degree in a related discipline, such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
15. Knowledge of civil engineering works, Mechanical & Electrical Works, design build operate projects and project management.
16. Capable of writing clear and concise reports and keeping works records.
17. Strong knowledge and experience of Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
18. Satisfactory knowledge of construction contracts, experience in FIDIC and Public Works forms of contract would be advantageous, but not essential.
19. A current and valid SafePass card and Confined Spaces training.
You will also have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work within a team at all times.
