Purpose of the Role:
The primary objective of this post is to work as part of a team to support and empower the children to be as independent as possible and to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. Children Support Workers provide care and support through a person-centred approach which promotes the children's development and growth, their social inclusion and active participation in the community.
* To act as key worker for named Resident where appropriate.
* Provide support to residents with their daily plan
* Provide support to residents with their individual goals and education.
* Provide support to residents with their living skills, eg. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, family visits etc.

Role Requirements:
* Candidates must hold a qualification at FETEC Level 5 Health Care Major Award or its equivalent in Healthcare or Education e.g. Level 5 Special Needs Assistant or Early Childhood Care & Education.
* Experience working with children in any of the following environments; Children's residential, respite or day services, Montessori, Creche or Primary School as a Special Needs Assistant.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
* Previous experience of supporting children with an intellectual disability.
* Full driving licence
* FETEC Level 6 or Higher Healthcare or Education
