Project Managers & Assistant PMs – Infrastructure (Energy & Utilities), Capital Projects, Cork
(hybrid/mostly remote with occasional client office visits when required)
Our client, a global top tier Management Consultancy, has a dynamic and diverse Transformation Delivery team, delivering large-scale Capital Projects. They are looking for experienced, motivated Project & Programme Managers and Assistant PMs who have previously worked in Project Management roles in Engineering Capital Projects to join their team.
Their Capital Programme Delivery (CPD) team sits within the Transformation Delivery competency of their Irish Consulting practice. This team is committed to delivering exceptional client services across a range of sectors including Energy, Utilities, Transport, Gas, Telecoms and Housing.
ROLE AND REQUIREMENTS:
In order to continue to grow successfully, they are currently hiring Project & Programme Managers & Assistant Project Managers with an Engineering or Construction related background.
Responsibilities:
1. Working directly with Infrastructure Clients across their focus sectors to help create innovative insights and solutions to meet their needs.
2. Advising Clients on the challenges relating to the delivery of Capital Projects and Programmes.
3. Project set-up and mobilisation, defining the Operating Model and Delivery Strategy.
4. Working as part of a team to ensure that all Project Deliverables are managed to time, cost, and quality.
5. Ensuring that Project Plans, Project Logs, and project budgets are managed effectively.
6. Delivery of Major Project/Programme activities throughout the entire project lifecycle from initiation through to project close.
7. Integrating data to inform insights by sharing technical, sector, and market knowledge.
8. Applying knowledge, experience, and expertise to shape services to clients with limited direction.
9. Participating in and acting as the lead on small engagements or work-streams.
10. Assessing the maturity of programme management and/or operations of an infrastructure or capital programme.
11. High-quality business writing and ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
12. Continuous development and improvement of processes and procedures within the team.
Internal Responsibilities:
1. Assisting in client account management activities.
2. Building valued relationships with clients and colleagues.
3. Providing a supporting role in presentations and proposals.
4. Communicating effectively with their Senior Management.
5. Understanding all service offerings and identifying opportunities.
6. Supporting team development activities, including coaching and mentoring.
To do this role effectively, they are looking for people with:
1. 3rd level educational qualification in Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
2. Assistant Project Manager: Approx. 3-6 years’ experience as a Project Engineer or Project Co-Ordinator.
3. Project / Programme Manager: Approx. 6-20 years’ experience delivering large scale engineering capital projects.
Ideal candidates will have:
1. Experience in consulting or similar Client Facing role.
2. Excellent Stakeholder Management and Communication skills.
3. Good understanding of Project Governance and Change Management principles.
4. Additional professional qualifications, such as PRINCE2 or PMP, are desirable.
