DESCRIPTION of Senior Radiographer MRI FTC role at UPMC Whitfield Hospital: As a Senior Radiographer MRI, you will work as part of the Radiology Department and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality MRI services to patients. You will have strong leadership qualities, management skills, and core professional competence in diagnostic radiography. Key responsibilities include recognising workload needs, engaging with consultants, developing view protocols, continuous development of the department handbook, organising workload according to clinical need, implementing change in practice based on evidence-based practice, advising on patient schedules, contributing to operational policies and guidelines, leading clinical audit, demonstrating flexibility in adapting techniques and equipment for imaging compromised patients, managing radiographic examinations, scheduling workflow, advising on equipment selection and maintenance, troubleshooting technology issues, maintaining accurate information systems, reporting operation issues, managing consumables efficiently, assessing patient suitability for I.V. injections, implementing a continuous learning programme, supervising and teaching staff, making decisions based on radiographs, advising on radiation protection and patient safety, dispensing and administering I.V. injections, ensuring patient confidentiality and customs are respected, monitoring stock levels, liaising with senior staff, leading and being an active member of radiographic and multidisciplinary teams, fostering good working relationships, ensuring staff perform manual handling tasks, promoting radiation safety, adhering to hospital policies and legislation on radiographic imaging safety, participating in quality assurance programmes, implementing and updating equipment inspection records, troubleshooting imaging and electronic patient systems, regularly liaising with physicists on safety issues, promoting and maintaining a safe environment, having a working knowledge of HIQA Standards, assisting in the development of checklists for system breakdowns and power outages, supporting sustainable energy, water, and waste initiatives, being aware of diagnostic reference levels, trending and reviewing Departmental DRLs, identifying process improvements, developing personal development plans, conducting evidence-based research, applying learning outcomes in the clinical setting, participating in staff engagement and performance reviews, demonstrating resilience, composure, flexibility, openness to change, commitment to continuing professional development, ability to manage and develop self and others, effectively evaluating information, and acting autonomously within agreed guidelines.
