We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join our team at our Kerry site in Listowel.
This is a full-time seasonal role. Hours of work are Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm with one weekend on, one weekend off. In addition, 12-hour day and night shift cover may also be required from time to time by prior arrangement.
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the analysis of raw materials, in-process and finished product samples, conducting testing ranging from physical, chemical, microbiological, functional, sensory, etc.
What will I be doing?
1. Responsible for the analysis of raw materials, in-process and finished product samples.
2. The successful candidate will conduct testing ranging from physical, chemical, microbiological, functional, sensory, etc.
3. Proficiency testing within the scope of lab accreditations.
4. Accountable for recording the data generated in SAP and other systems.
5. Abiding by the Kerry Policy – Safety First, Quality Always.
6. Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
What do I need to be successful?
1. Previous food/dairy laboratory testing experience.
2. Knowledge of the Quality Management Systems.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of the product specifications, plant processes, and products.
4. An excellent understanding of Good Laboratory Practice.
5. Previous manufacturing experience is desirable, but not essential.
6. A third-level qualification in a science-related discipline or lab experience.
7. Proficient in the use of MS Office tools.
8. Knowledge in LIMS, SAP system would be an advantage.
9. The successful candidate will be organised, systematic and should possess the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
10. Strong attention to detail.
11. Strong analytical skills.
12. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to respond to changing demands.
