Job Title: Safeguarding Manager
The Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Safeguarding Manager to join our team in SVP House, Dublin. The post holder will be responsible for the implementation of the SVP Safeguarding strategy and provision of specialist safeguarding advice and support to SVP leaders, managers, and Designated Liaison Person's.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement the SVP Safeguarding strategy as agreed by the National Safeguarding Committee and National Management Committee.
* Provide specialist safeguarding advice and support to SVP leaders, managers, and Designated Liaison Person's.
* Manage the central Garda Vetting resources.
Candidate Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* An approved qualification in Social Work at NFQ Level 8 or Higher and registered with (or eligible to register) with CORU.
* A recognised qualification in Social Care, Child Care, Nursing or Youth Work.
* A recognised postgraduate qualification in Safeguarding, child protection and welfare, safeguarding vulnerable adults.
* Strong understanding of good governance, risk management practices and their application.
* Knowledge and understanding of the importance of core legislation and national guidelines for child protection in Ireland, including Children First and Our Duty to Care.
* At least 5 years of experience of working in or within a similar role with Safeguarding and Child Protection Responsibilities.
* Experience of working at a mid/senior management level.
* Previous experience within the Data Protection compliance field, able to demonstrate strong understanding of GDPR and associated legislation.
