We are currently recruiting for a Electrical Project Engineer to be based in Carlow. This is a full time and permanent position and is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a well-established company working in the water industry.

Job Description:
1. Provide support to the Project Manager.
2. Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations ensuring full specification compliance.
3. Prepare technical submissions and reports for Client approval.
4. Generate contract programmes of work.
5. Monitor and update the progress of projects against the Contract Programme.
6. Schedule resources and contractors to ensure the delivery schedule is met.
7. Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for upcoming works.
8. Implement the Project Quality Control procedures.
9. Site liaison with sub-contractors and Client Project & Resident Engineers.
10. Site liaison with directly employed tradespeople (fitters and electricians).
11. Site Supervision of works.
12. Scheduling of crews and sub-contractors.
13. Financial tracking of projects and reporting.
14. Site surveys and generation of works packages.
15. Maintain and update the Site Safety Files ensuring full compliance with current HSA regulations.
16. Attend site for safety audits and project supervision.
17. Update drawings for construction with vendor packages.
18. Document control for all aspects of the Contract.
19. Maintain a variation and change order log.
20. Compile the O&M Manuals.
21. The role will involve both office-based work and frequent site visits.
The ideal Candidate will have:
1. Minimum of 5 years Electrical Engineering experience which will have been in a Project Engineering role.
2. This role would be a good opportunity for a trade qualified electrician who wants to pursue a career in Electrical Project Engineering.
3. Knowledge and experience of the water and wastewater industry (not essential, but an advantage).
4. A working knowledge of AutoCAD with the capability to update drawings for construction and to coordinate between vendors and contractors.
5. Knowledge and experience of plant design, construction and commissioning.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Experience of managing contractors and sub-contractors for the delivery of projects.
8. Strong technical, delivery and commercial skills.
9. Demonstrate a pro-active, practical & flexible approach to work.
