Deli Supervisor Role at Loughrea Service Station
We are seeking a highly skilled Deli Supervisor to join our team at Loughrea Service Station, part of The Plaza Group's leading independent motorway and primary route services groups in Ireland.
The successful candidate will assist the Deli & Bakery Manager with the day-to-day operation of the hot & cold delis and fresh food offering on-site, ensuring delivery of all delicatessen and fresh food targets through effective management of the delicatessen and bakery area and its personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the deli area provides a variety of fresh, well-presented, and high-quality foods at all times while operational.
* Involved in the recruitment process, training, and cross-training of customer-focused personnel, following company standards and policies.
* Ensure delicatessen standards are consistently improving in terms of sourcing new products, housekeeping, merchandising, presentation, and customer service.
* Plan for market changes and demands as they arise – seasonality and local activity.
* Ensure delicatessen promotions are managed appropriately with adequate costing analysis.
* Deal with customer complaints in an appropriate manner.
* Implement HACCP standards and maintain record sheets according to requirements.
* Maintain overall customer service levels within the area at the required standard and up-selling of add-on items where possible.
Financial Management:
* Control overheads and minimize them where possible through effective management of the area.
* Maximize delicatessen and bakery sales through effective supervision of the area.
* Manage delicatessen margins and ensure profitability of the area is maximized.
People Management:
* Assist in recruitment, training, and development of high-quality personnel for the delicatessen area.
* Maintain training records and provide refresher training to personnel in the area as necessary.
* Manage the performance of the delicatessen area.
* Motivate the delicatessen team.
* Ensure the delicatessen team complies with requirements of the area in terms of hygiene, etc.
* Assist the Deli Manager with staff rostering to ensure adequate cover within pre-set labour targets.
Food Management:
* Implement effective and compliant HACCP control systems.
* Implement policies and procedures about fresh food.
* Operate within relevant legislation in terms of HACCP.
* Complete all relevant record sheets.
* Stay up-to-date on all aspects of HACCP and food safety and hygiene requirements and communicate these to store management and personnel.
* Assist the Deli Manager with stock control, dating, and stock rotation.
* Contribute to menu planning and development to ensure a variety of choices.
* Adhere to pre-agreed menus and plan accordingly.
* Minimize wastages in the delicatessen area through effective management of stock.
Additional Duties:
Undertake other additional duties assigned by the Deli & Bakery Manager and Site Manager.
