Job Title: Director of Accounting and Finance

Job Summary:
The Director of Accounting and Finance will oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with Irish and international accounting standards while driving financial strategy. This leadership role involves managing accounting teams, financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and strategic financial planning to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
* Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company goals.
* Provide strategic recommendations to the executive team based on financial analysis.
* Lead long-term financial planning, risk management, and investment strategies.
Accounting & Compliance:
* Oversee all accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, and month/year-end close.
* Ensure compliance with Irish GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations (Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE, etc.).
* Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
* Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Deliver insightful financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
* Monitor KPIs, cash flow, and financial performance against budgets.
Team Management:
* Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering professional development.
* Streamline financial processes and implement best practices for efficiency.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
* Manage annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
* Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
Tax & Audit Management:
* Ensure timely filing of statutory returns (Revenue Commissioners, CRO).
* Coordinate audits and implement audit recommendations.
Systems & Process Improvement:
* Optimize financial systems (e.g., ERP software like SAP, Oracle, or Xero).
* Drive automation and digital transformation in financial operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Education: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA qualification. Degree in Finance/Accounting.
* Experience: 10+ years in accounting/finance, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
* Industry Knowledge: Experience in [specify sector if relevant, e.g., manufacturing, tech, multinational].
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in IFRS, Irish tax law, financial modelling, and ERP systems.
* Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.

* Knowledge of mergers & acquisitions (M&A) or fundraising.
* Familiarity with Wicklow’s business landscape (advantageous).
