Ward Clerk Clerical Officer (Grade IV) Permanent, Part Time Role Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Print/email Ward Census & Ward Lists daily.
Assist the Ward Clinical Nurse Manager, handle phone queries, general reception duties, and deal with the public as required. Deal with Healthcare Records including ensuring they are structured correctly, track location, create temporary healthcare records, divide large records, maintain and update records as required, file necessary paperwork, etc, following the relevant procedures.
Ensure there are relevant documentation, e.g.
stickers, forms, continuation sheets etc, in each record.
Ensure the confidentiality and security of patients' healthcare information is maintained.
Update iPMS with any patient movements/changes, e.g.
patients transferred for PM in CUH, discharged patients, patients transferred to a new ward, etc.
Ensure signed Lab Reports are filed correctly and accessible by NCHDs and/or Consultants.
Send any unsigned reports to the relevant Medical Secretary. Compile Stores Sheet and email to Stores.
Liaise with other departments as appropriate, e.g.
OPD re appointments, Emergency Department re insurance forms, etc.
General administration duties such as faxing, photocopying, post, and cleaning of phones, computer etc.
Assist with training of new Ward Clerks when required.
Any other duties that may be assigned such as Ward Cross Cover.
Eligibility Criteria or Experience: Ability to work as a member of team and make positive contributions to that team.
Have an organised and methodical approach to work.
Ability to work in a patient focused environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent I.T.
skills including MS Office and iPMS.
Flexible approach to work.
