Role Overview
Our client, a multinational life insurance company, is seeking to bring in a Senior In-House Legal Counsel to join their global legal team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide accurate, timely, and relevant counsel to internal business stakeholders on a diverse range of matters, including commercial contracts, data privacy, and other legal relations.
* Minimise legal risk by identifying, managing, and reporting on activities or transactions that could pose significant risks to the wider business.
* Offer guidance on legal matters related to cross-functional projects and business initiatives, such as new business opportunities (including M&A and procurement), outsourcing, reorganisations, and data privacy.
* Develop solutions to help business stakeholders optimise their use of legal resources.
* Keep up-to-date on regulatory changes and ensure the organisation is compliant with all new legislation.
* Collaborate with the wider legal team across Europe to enhance efficiencies.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Be a qualified solicitor with at least 5+ years PQE as a corporate, finance, or insurance lawyer either in-house or a top law firm.
* Be confident in working as a generalist lawyer, dealing with a range of matters from M&A, to data privacy, to advising on EU laws.
* Be commercially-minded and a strong team collaborator.
