FWG Forensics is currently seeking a forensic fire engineer, electrical engineer, or mechanical engineer to fill a vacant position. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical, mechanical, or fire engineering and relevant academic qualifications.
About the Role
The role of a forensic investigator is dynamic and highly varied. One day you may be excavating a fire-damaged factory, while the next day you'll be attending a meeting with senior council to discuss your findings. Adaptability and effective communication are key aspects of this work.
The primary duties involve examining and documenting fire and water-damaged buildings and preparing reports for clients. Mentoring and on-the-job training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals new to forensic investigations.
Key Responsibilities
* Origin and cause investigations: assessing damage, documenting evidence, and conducting research into building regulations and safety standards.
* Attending scenes: collecting information, taking notes, and securing evidence.
* Fault diagnoses and complex problem solving: using analytical skills to identify causes of damage and recommend solutions.
The successful candidate will possess:
* An electrical, mechanical, or fire engineering background and associated academic qualifications.
* A curious and observant mind, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* The ability to work in a corporate environment and interact with people from diverse backgrounds.
