About the Company - CREGG are currently hiring for a Design Manager to join an internationally recognized leader in fire protection systems.
About the Role - The Design Manager will be responsible for leading, managing, coaching, mentoring, training, and supporting a team of Design Engineers / CAD Technicians to maximize their full potential.
Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage Design Engineers & CAD Technicians across multiple projects.
2. Oversee problem-solving and resolution of design and coordination challenges.
3. Manage drawing standards, specifications, and LCBP accreditation processes.
4. Develop, update, and enforce Design SOPs, manuals, and procedures in compliance with regulations.
5. Plan and schedule upcoming work, providing updates to relevant departments.
6. Track, monitor, and update design progress in project management systems.
7. Implement standard design tools to improve project efficiency.
8. Support Design Engineers in passing audits and inspections.
9. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance, engagement, and development of team members.
10. Ensure workforce planning aligns with staffing needs and budget.
11. Develop and maintain job descriptions and key competencies.
12. Assess and deliver training, including onboarding and technical upskilling.
13. Foster a high-performance team culture through mentoring and capability-building.
14. Take ownership of team performance, collaborating with management to address issues.
15. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and ensure documentation accuracy.
16. Promote a strong HSEQ culture and support CSR initiatives.
17. Engage proactively in company initiatives and maintain best practices.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
Required Skills
1. Fire Sprinkler Design Experience Desirable
2. Experience using Revit
3. Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) workflows
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
5. Ability to prioritize work and manage challenging workload
6. Flexible, adaptable, and can-do attitude to work
7. Proven record of building and sustaining effective and professional working relationships; being a trusted advisor to colleagues
8. Excellent time management, attention to detail, and reliability skills.
9. Proven experience in leading and managing design teams.
10. Strong knowledge of design software such as Revit, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
11. Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
12. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
13. Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
14. LPCB – Basic, Intermediate and FHC Exams desirable.
