We are hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing at a Hospital in Limerick, Ireland.
Responsibilities
* Provides professional leadership to all nursing staff, cultivating a culture that values ongoing professional development and aims for excellence in patient care delivery and quality improvement in accordance with Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards for Hospitals.
* Collaborates with the Director of Nursing and ADON colleagues to lead the development and implementation of nursing parts of the hospital's plan, as well as provide guidance on nursing and patient experience concerns as needed, in compliance with local and national policies.
* Works collaboratively with the Director of Nursing and the Hospital CEO to balance the challenges of providing high-quality, safe services with good outcomes while delivering efficiencies and meeting the expectations of patients and the public.
* Participate fully in the duty roster established by the Director of Nursing, including providing assistance and deputising for the Director of Nursing as needed.
* Leads nursing metrics across the given area of responsibility within the hospital, ensuring data quality for the Director of Nursing, Quality and Risk Manager, and the Group Director of Nursing, Quality, and Patient Safety.
* Leads trend analysis of complaints, concerns, compliments, and comments throughout designated areas of responsibility, ensuring that they are reported centrally (Q-Pulse) to the Quality and Risk Manager's office.
* Works with the Bed Manager and the Patient Access Manager to determine predicted bed demand, which informs the best utilisation of hospital beds through effective admission, planning, and discharge management. Liaise with Theatre Services.
Requirements
* Registered or eligible to register with the General Nurse Division of the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* A Level 8 or higher (QQI) award in a health care or management related field.
* Seven years of post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
* A minimum of four years of managerial experience at the CNM II level or above in an acute care setting.
* A flexible and optimistic attitude towards doing a variety of duties to suit the needs of the service.
* A Level 9 / Masters in Nursing, Management, and/or Leadership. (Desirable)
* ACLS certification is current. (Desirable)
