We are recruiting for a RD&A Senior Technologist to join us on a fixed term basis from a September 1st 2024 to end of February 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of passionate food creatives developing new products for the Foodservice poultry and red meat markets.
In this role you will be working as part of the Meat RD&A team based in Naas, while also travelling regularly to support our customers in their production facilities throughout Europe.
You will work on continuous improvement of products in our current portfolio, as well as developing innovative new products in line with customer briefs.
Key responsibilities
1. Commercially focused development and application lead creating market suitable, innovative products for strategic Foodservice customers
2. Manage projects from ideation and bench development, through to scale-up and launch
3. Develop a strong business acumen and understanding of the Foodservice market
4. Link consumer and customer insights into development of new products and renovation of existing products
5. Work in line with business strategies to help deliver ambitious growth targetsDevelop best-in-class products through in-depth understanding of ingredients and processing for meat coating and seasoning technologies
6. Develop processing expertise to support customers in achieving the best possible product and possess the ability to problem solve and work through processing issues
7. Strong collaboration with Development & Application and Field Support teams
8. Regular face-to-face engagement with customer Product Development and Production teams, as well as developing and managing working relationships with the customer teams
9. Regular reporting of project updates to management and the wider team
10. Leading customer engagement, presentations and RD&A communications

What do I need to be successful?

16. BSc in Food Science, Technology or related field
17. Previous industrial or research experience and experience of processing & knowledge of food manufacturing is desired
18. Laboratory experience is an advantage
19. Demonstrates an interest in Food (demonstrates creativity, practical skills & enjoyment of food)
20. Full training will be provided
21. Teamwork is essential, the role requires excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to share learnings, manage timelines & feedback results
22. You should demonstrate an ability to work cross-functionally and inter-departmentally
23. You should be adept at prioritising your work
24. You should have a passion for food and the ability to confidently present information and food products to your team
25. You should possess good organisational and PC skills and knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel)
