Accountant Opportunity at Prestigious Hotel in Galway
We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our team at a well-known and loved city centre hotel in Galway. The successful candidate will take on the responsibility for all finance aspects, reporting directly to the managing directors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and cash flow statements.
* Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
* Reconcile bank accounts and perform general ledger reconciliations.
* Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
* Process supplier invoices, payments, and manage supplier accounts.
* Monitor customer accounts, process invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
* Ensure timely processing of payroll, VAT returns, and other statutory obligations.
* Oversee payroll processing, including tax deductions and employee benefits.
* Ensure compliance with tax regulations, Revenue reporting, and company policies.
* Manage hotel-related financial compliance, including VAT and payroll tax returns.
* Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
* Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures.
* Support hotel management with financial insights and recommendations.
Requirements:
* Qualified/Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar) or experienced Accounts Assistant.
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
* Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, Quick Books) and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
