To drive profitable growth and ensure we capture value, we seek a Commercial Product Engineer who can develop and execute an automotive commercial strategy across functional areas and collaborate with customers. This role will report directly to the Commercial Marketing Director.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Business Unit leaders to understand and implement pricing strategies that meet BU financial objectives.
* Work in a fast-paced, complex environment across the organization, customers, and partners.
* Participate in and help drive the Annual Price Negotiation process for major Automotive customers with internal and external stakeholders.
* Communicate the value added by Commercial Marketing activities and possess a solution-oriented mindset to address customer challenges.
* Negotiate and execute commercial agreements such as Supply Agreements, MOUs, etc.
* Build strong relationships with customer-facing teams (Account Management, Global Account Management, Sales Leadership, Customers, etc.) to facilitate commercial strategy execution.
* Develop a working knowledge of pricing systems (ModelN, etc.) to ensure business needs are incorporated into system development and manage escalations when necessary.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, etc.) or equivalent.
* 5+ years of experience in a commercial role preferred.
* Negotiation experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
* Superior oral and written communication skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Self-motivated, thorough, autonomous, and driven to continually improve.
* Excellent cross-functional networking skills.
* Able to see the big picture and business strategy.
* Data analysis experience preferred, including Excel (experience with Pivot tables), PowerBI, etc.
* Comfortable presenting to senior management and executives.
