Job Title: Warehousing / Logistics Manager
On behalf of our manufacturing client in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, we are sourcing a senior leader to oversee all warehousing and logistics activities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leadership, staff management, and come from a warehousing, logistics, or production background.
Job Purpose:
To support the business through effective management of all warehousing and logistics activities, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure customer needs are met on a daily basis.
2. Manage the company's operational warehousing and logistics functions to ensure maximisation of efficiencies, space utilisation, productivity, and minimisation of costs.
3. Distribute daily warehouse capacity and activity reports for warehouse locations.
4. Distribute and review finished goods insight status reports for all agreed locations daily.
5. Manage assortment staff and ensure assortment plans are achieved to target.
6. Create a daily space and despatch allocation plan and distribute across functions to include operations and supply chain teams.
7. Create and agree with operations the weekend space allocation and stock movement plan and communicate thereof.
8. Design and implement continuous improvement initiatives and standard operating procedures for the warehousing and logistics functions.
9. Assist the warehouse coordinator in stock counting and agree stock counting adjustments in line with agreed SQA procedures.
10. Work with senior management, commercial, customer service teams to determine and implement cost-effective solutions for the transport of product to customers.
11. Establish, follow, and enforce all health and safety standards and procedures in compliance with a healthy work environment and legal requirements.
12. Develop a strong and open communications strategy for the department.
13. Implement a clean as you go approach and best hygiene practices for warehousing and logistics operations.
Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
* Minimum 5 years previous warehouse/operations experience.
* High level of comfort with IT-driven warehouse systems workings.
* Ability to manage processes on the factory and via systems.
* Ability to manage team members effectively.
* Reporting skills.
* Ability to accurately analyse information.
