About the Role Location : Ireland/ London
The Principal Contract Specialist will report to and work closely with the Global Contracts Manager and will be responsible for reviewing and redlining incoming documents, working with the Global Contracts Manager on non-standard contracts, and performing general administrative tasks to facilitate the contracting process. A successful Principal Contract Specialist will be a highly detail-oriented self-starter with demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges, respond efficiently, and remain flexible when dealing with changing priorities and multiple tasks. The ability to be highly confidential and maintain professional discretion with sensitive information is also essential for this role.
Essential Functions
Analyze and report on specific risks associated with contracts
Generate reports on the current status of existing agreements
Work with the Sales team to answer Customer questions and support contract negotiations
Assist in the development and maintenance of an online repository of approved contract language
Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve contract management and administration
Leading contract strategy development and execution.
Negotiates high-value or high-risk contracts with major stakeholders according to internal policies and procedures.
Lead key initiatives to improve contract management systems, processes, and tools.
Supports ongoing operational goals and team commitments.
Complements and mentors others on contract drafting.
Plays a pivotal role in achieving organizational goals through effective contracting practices throughout the organization
Other Duties:
Provide ongoing administrative support for the contracts team
Be accountable for response times to contract requests
Provide excellent customer service to internal sales team
Provide ongoing support relating to contracts questions from internal teams
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
8-12+ years of experience in contract negotiation and redlining, preferably at a Software/SaaS company
2+ years of SaaS industry experience
8 years experience redlining MSAs, DPAs or SaaS contracts
Bachelor’s degree required
Knowledge and Skills
Advanced written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity of the legal requirements involved in SaaS contracts and an ability to review complex legal language
Strong attention to detail and ability to notice errors
Strong sense of personal initiative and excellent time management
Outstanding organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Able to work independently
Reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain the confidentiality of information.
Additional Information Compensation for this role ranges from 35,000 GBP - 50,000 GBP
