Automation Engineer - BioPharma / Medical Devices
We are currently partnered with a leading life science consultancy in Ireland looking to expand their team with an Automation Engineer specializing in small equipment manufacturing to support a cutting-edge biotechnology company at their manufacturing site in Limerick.
This is a contract engagement (initially 12 months) based in Limerick, Ireland. 3 days onsite per week is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities for this Automation Engineer position:
* Provide technical support for manufacturing equipment software and applications.
* Troubleshoot system issues and support end-users in a GMP environment.
* Develop and maintain technical documentation (SOPs, work instructions, configuration specs).
* Manage user access, system administration, and security reviews.
* Support system upgrades, change controls, and compliance activities.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Validation) on system improvements and projects.
* Assist with audits, inspections, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements:
* Degree in Engineering, Science, IT or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* 2+ years’ experience supporting manufacturing systems or automation in a regulated environment (pharma/biotech/medical devices desirable).
* Strong problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
* Experience with GMP or regulated industries is a plus.
* Full right to work within Ireland is a hard requirement.
