Job Description
Our client is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and programs to ensure the safety and well-being of employees, visitors, and customers on site
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures that comply with all applicable regulations and laws.
2. Monitor compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
3. Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to minimize risks.
4. Investigate accidents and incidents, and develop and implement corrective actions.
5. Provide training and education to employees and management on health and safety issues.
6. Maintain accurate records of all health and safety incidents, investigations, and corrective actions.
7. Stay up-to-date on changes in regulations and laws related to health and safety.
8. Work with external stakeholders, such as government agencies and industry associations, to promote best practices in health and safety.
9. Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
11. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field.
12. Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Health and Safety Technician, etc.) is preferred.
13. At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
14. Knowledge of applicable regulations and laws related to occupational health and safety.
15. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
16. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
17. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
18. Strong attention to detail.
19. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
