The Opportunity
We are seeking a Category Coordinator to support our Category Managers in developing, implementing, and managing effective procurement strategies for service performance, quality, cost, innovation, sustainability, and regulation. This role is crucial to our Trading Operations team that provides trading services and solutions to EirGrid group.
The Category Coordinator will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer – working alongside a dedicated team of experienced professionals who provide commercial expertise to the business.
* You will review all purchase orders issued by the Group on the Dynamics AX system for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all required fields are linked.
* You will procure new suppliers through Dynamics AX and resolve related queries.
* You will create and issue purchase orders for all EirGrid companies through Dynamics AX.
* You will be the primary point of contact for supplier inquiries.
* You will take ownership of all purchased goods and services, reporting monthly on activity.
* You will perform daily reviews of incoming supplier emails, responding to queries as necessary and escalating where required.
* You will assist the manager in producing regular management reports, quarterly and annual reports, and ad-hoc tasks as required.
* You will support the procurement team in providing commercial expertise to deliver business objectives (costs, service delivery, risk management, innovation, etc.).
* You will lead training on PO uplift and Public Procurement for new starters within the organization.
About You
* Proven experience in supply chain management or procurement or a related field.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in the procurement arena.
* Strong ability to communicate effectively, influence and collaborate with key stakeholders.
* Knowledgeable about procurement tools, software, and processes.
* Familiarity with using Dynamics AX or another financial accounting/ERP system.
* Able to work under deadlines, confidentially and discreetly.
* Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail.
* Experience working in a team environment.
* Ability to work independently.
* Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with challenging customers.
* Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
* Desirable: experience in public speaking and/or presenting in a corporate setting.
