We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Psychologist (Staff Grade) to join our team in CHO1 Cavan.
Contract Type: Permanent Full Time
Contract Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary Scale: €62,274 to €98,223 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments).
Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.
Overview of the Post:
To provide a range of psychological services to children 0 – 18 years on the Early Years / School Age Team and their families who attend the Cavan Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT), within an interdisciplinary framework and family-centered practice and to support other staff and students as assigned. You will join a team of Psychologists working as part of an interdisciplinary team, with a strong focus on intervention. You will have access to regular clinical supervision from a Senior Psychologist.

The successful candidate will have:
1. Have a university degree or diploma (QQI level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject.
2. Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
3. Demonstrate competence in the Care Group/s applied for.
4. Applicants with a clinical or counselling psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired in appropriate health settings, for the area / areas for which they wish to apply - Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology, Adult Psychology - either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification; or at least 60 days or equivalent post-qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist.
5. Applicants with an educational psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired in appropriate health settings for the area / areas for which they wish to apply - Child Disability, Child Psychology - either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification; or at least 60 days or equivalent post qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist.
6. Must be a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
7. Eligible to work in the state.
8. Valid driver’s licence with access to own transport in order to deliver services across a large geographical area.
9. Experience of working with children and/or adolescents and their families with one or more of a range of disabilities.
10. Knowledge and skills in the management of behaviours of concern.
11. Knowledge and skills in conducting diagnostic assessments in children and young people including Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities.
12. Knowledge of HSE Progressing Disability Services Programme.
13. Broad knowledge of Enable Ireland Services.
14. Experience of working in a disability service.
15. Experience of interdisciplinary team working.
