CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST RHEUMATOLOGY Full Time Permanent Bon Secours Hospital Cork is part of the Bon Secours Health System which is the largest independent hospital group in Ireland with over 2,500 staff including 350 leading consultants.

Candidate Requirements:
Registered in the General Division of the live register of nurses kept by the NMBI.
A minimum 5years post registration experience.
A minimum 2 years experience inRheumatologycareor another area of relevance to this post.
Experience working on own initiative and working within a team setting.
Post graduate Diploma Or the equivalent Preceptorship course is desirable Management Experience is desirable
Person Specification:
Excellent interpersonal and clinical skills and be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Act as a patient/staff advocate through the demonstration of professional knowledge and skill Act as a resource and support to nursing staff caring for rheumatology patients.
Provide structured and impromptu education opportunities to facilitate staff development and patient education.
Must be computer literate Flexibility and excellent use of initiative Clinical Focus TheRheumatologyNurse Specialist will be responsible for the following: Influencing the development of the specialist rheumatology nursing service, by demonstrating the ability to keep up to date with current developments in nursing practice within the appropriate specialty Making a specialist nursing contribution at Hospital level on the development and implementation of local, national and international standards of rheumatology care Take responsibility for making often complex and difficult decisions in the area of symptom management.
Refer patients to specialist community teams or to in-patient units as necessary.
Providing advice for people experiencing difficulties with associated conditions or lifestyle changes.
Empowering people with rheumatology conditions, fostering a culture of compliance with treatment and self management.
