The Role
As part of their ongoing growth and ambitious future plans, they are seeking to hire a Solicitor to join one of their dynamic Public and Regulatory sub teams. This sub-team is an integral part of our larger Public and Regulatory unit, which currently includes 1 Partner, 3 Solicitors, and 1 Trainee Solicitor.
In this role, you will contribute towards a rewarding and busy caseload, including managing litigation, handling regulatory matters and addressing complaints made to statutory bodies. Your responsibilities will include analysing submissions regarding complaints, drafting detailed and well-reasoned decisions in respect of those complaints whilst having regard to the applicable case law and fair procedures. You will interact with the client and ensure that your advice is underpinned by a sound commercial understanding of client needs and expectations. You will be given ample autonomy in your role, within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

The successful candidate will gain invaluable experience in:
* Regulatory and compliance: including misconduct and complaints in areas such as but not limited to, Income Protection Policies and Mortgage Arrears while developing a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in these areas.
* Conducting preliminary investigations: involving gathering and analysing evidence and preparing findings.
* Drafting decisions on behalf of a large public statutory body: requiring strong analytical and drafting skills to produce clear, well-reasoned and legally sound recommendations.
* Presenting decisions for review with the client: involving the ability to deliver clear rationale, address questions or concerns and implement necessary revisions.
* Acting in a quasi-judicial function: requiring a high level of integrity, fairness and adherence to legal standards.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
* 1+ years post qualification professional experience ideally in the areas of Public and Regulatory, Financial Regulation and/or Administrative Law (although all suitably qualified, including more experienced candidates will be fully considered);
* Litigation experience, particularly in the field of judicial review;
* Ability to foster trusted relationships with clients;
* Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail;
* Strong organisational and time management skills;
* Team player with strong communication skills;
* A good work ethic with a positive "can do" attitude and approach to work.
