Principal Electrical Engineer - HealthcareListed: 21 Feb 2025MEP ConsultancyDublin – Central70,000 to 80,000My Client are an award winning international Engineering Consultancy who are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer with healthcare expertise to join our Building Engineering group in their Dublin office.The successful Electrical Engineer will be a part of a group of multi-disciplinary engineers who overcome highly complex challenges in the built environment with creativity, technical expertise, passion and a commitment to designing with a social purpose.The successful candidate will assume a lead role in a diverse and challenging range of design projects, primarily in our healthcare portfolio but also with the opportunity to work across other sectors.Responsibilities:Project Planning and Management (resources and fees)Preparation of design & contract documentation and specificationsDesigning and reviewing design work of intermediate and junior engineersDesign of systems including but not limited to electrical distribution, small power, lighting & emergency lighting, fire detection & alarm, ICT, security and vertical transportationCo-ordination of work with all members of design teams (architect, engineers of all disciplines, QS, etc.)Ensuring that all designs and documents are prepared to the highest standardsEstimating, Procurement and Cost Control on projectsCompiling project reportsConceptual design studies and reportsMentoring and development of intermediate and junior engineers in the groupLiaising with the supply chain and contractors to co-ordinate the successful delivery of the MEP installations.Minimum Qualifications:Masters or Degree in Electrical Services engineering or Electrical EngineeringMinimum 9+ years post-qualification experience, most of which will be in design gained within a consultancy environment.Substantial experience in design of healthcare projects.Chartered Engineer status (or close to achieving status)Technically excellent with in-depth knowledge of relevant standards and regulationsExperience in leading design teamsExperience in using Revit and directing engineers using RevitProven team playerOrganised and adaptable, with a flexible approach to workAbility to deliver projects on time and within budgetCompetent in electrical design softwareExcellent communication and report writing skillsHighly motivated, pro-active and willing to take on new challengesDemonstrated experience in the design of Building Services Electrical systemsAs a senior MEP grade, a core knowledge of Building Services Mechanical systemsBenefits:€70,000 to €80,000 – Dependent on ExperienceProfit SharingDouble Matching Pension ContributionsTravel SubsistenceHealthcare SubsidyHybrid WFH optionsFurther benefits availableTo register your interest, please forward your CV to Jennie Hoare at jennie@ssaltd.com.
