Investec is looking for an enthusiastic IT Desktop Support Engineer to join our Dublin office (5 days per week in the office). In this hands-on role, you will play a critical part in providing essential IT support to our staff, ensuring that their daily operations run smoothly.
As an IT Desktop Support Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering 1st level IT support, managing hardware, operating systems, and applications for our team of approximately 50 staff members, with a majority of those being front office staff. We are looking for the candidate to be hands-on with owning problem resolution and providing support, whilst escalating within our global EUS support framework where needed.
There is significant breadth in this role, as you will also be involved in additional tasks including server management, networking, and hardware replacement. This role offers significant learning opportunities, including global exposure and collaboration with teams in the UK and South Africa. You will work closely with your colleagues to resolve issues, coordinate user support, and assist with various IT projects.
What you will be doing:
* Provide desktop technical support to staff, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
* Log and manage IT service desk calls, coordinating with team members and external service providers as needed.
* Prepare, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including the installation of new software and operating systems.
* Review output logs of daily and overnight processes to ensure system functionality.
* Assist with corporate presentations at offsite events and support desk and office moves.
* Maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and IT systems.
* Participate in group projects and support server management, networking, and hardware replacement tasks.
* Ensure data control and security, and assist with user access reviews.
What We're Looking For:
* A certificate or diploma in Information Technology or related field is essential, and some work experience in IT support would be beneficial.
* Experience supporting Windows in a corporate environment, particularly Windows 10.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to support Wi-Fi devices (iPhone, Android, iPad).
* Strong troubleshooting skills for PC, laptop, and printer issues.
* Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive, motivated, and flexible team player willing to learn and grow within the role.
