We are currently recruiting an Accounts Assistant on behalf of our client, a well-established construction company based in Killarney, County Kerry. Reporting directly to the Company Financial Controller, you will assist and support the accounts department in all functions, with a primary focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. This is a full-time, permanent position, based on-site in County Kerry.
Responsibilities:
* Assist and support the accounts department in all functions, with a primary focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable.
* Accurately process and record all incoming invoices, ensuring correct allocation to each project in a timely manner.
* Generate and issue AR invoices, and allocate AR receipts to the correct debtor accounts.
* Reconcile supplier and debtor statements with system balances, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
* Process payment runs and allocate payments to appropriate supplier accounts.
* Follow up with debtors regarding outstanding balances.
* Reconcile bank accounts regularly to ensure accurate records.
* Assist with month-end reporting and financial close procedures.
* Process RCT and subcontractor invoices in compliance with relevant regulations.
* Prepare and process scheduled weekly and monthly financial reports.
* Support the year-end audit process.
* Provide general administrative support to the accounts team as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar account assistant or finance role.
* Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
* Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations is essential.
Salary in the region of €32,000 – €36,000 is offered.
