Powercomm Group is hiring for Electrical Design Engineers for HV/MV design. This person must have experience and can work autonomously.
These are full time, permanent positions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering studies using industry leading software (PowerFactory, CDEGs, CYMCAP) – Studies include protection coordination, load flow, power quality, earthing, lightning protection, insulation coordination, dynamic etc.
2. Preparation of equipment specifications.
3. Technical evaluation of equipment offers.
4. Liaising with manufacturers to ensure equipment meets design specifications.
5. Liaising with clients.
6. Design of protection and control schemes.
7. Preparation of engineering drawings (substation layouts, elevations, lightning zones etc.).
8. Preparation of panel schematic drawings using EPLAN.
9. On-site inspections and testing.
10. Completion of all safety requirements including compiling Risk Assessments and Method Statements and on-site risk assessments.
11. Attendance at FATs for HV switchgear, transformers, and protection cabinets.
12. Tender documentation preparation, evaluation, and presentation.
13. Technical report writing.
Qualifications:
1. Electrical Engineering Degree (QQI Level 8).
2. 5-10 years experience.
3. E-Plan Experience (very desirable).
4. Experience with ESB / Eirgrid (very desirable).
5. Computer literate – Microsoft packages etc.
Desirable:
1. E-Plan Experience (very desirable).
2. Familiarity with HV substation design from 10kV to 220kV.
3. Familiarity with engineering software packages, for example Powerfactory.
4. Familiarity with ESB standards.
