Job Summary
The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, semi-State body seeking to maximise the supply of affordable homes on public and other land in a financially sustainable manner. It oversees an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government.
The Role
The Assistant Construction Manager will be part of the Construction Team and assist in the day-to-day management of matters pertaining to the procurement, construction, technical and operational stages of a Project.
Key Responsibilities
* Appoint design teams and support functions, including scope definition, tender documents preparation, and evaluation.
* Support the Project & Construction Teams during the project process.
* Engage with stakeholders to coordinate required inputs into project documents.
* Administer and manage project documents.
* Create project registers and trackers to maintain accurate records.
* Support the Construction Manager in promoting excellent customer service and building exceptional working relationships with colleagues and professional teams.
* Attend design team and construction meetings.
* Manage contracts during the operational phase.
Person Specifications/Requirements
* Construction-related qualification to higher diploma/degree level in civil engineering or construction management.
* Preferably 3 years PQE in a relevant area.
* Demonstrable willingness to take on new responsibilities and work unsupervised or as part of a team within a well-defined project organisation structure.
* Experience of the development process would be an advantage.
* Good construction commercial knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, etc.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills for report-making and delivery.
* Driven proactive solutions and results-focused team player with adaptability to new challenges.
* Keen interest in the development process and developing skillsets like project and development management, contractual and financial aspects, stakeholder relationships, and commercial acumen.
