Psychotherapists Role
We are seeking Psychotherapists for locum positions with the Irish Prison Service at the Mountjoy Female Prison (Dóchas Centre), Dublin.
About the Role
This is a pilot project, and the assignment will be offered on a full-time basis for an initial 12 months.
The Dóchas Centre is a closed, medium-security prison for females aged 18 years and over. It serves as the committal prison for females committed on remand or sentenced from all Courts outside the Munster area.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Psychology Service and the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in addressing the mental health and offence-specific needs of people referred to the Psychology Service.
* Assist in delivering psychological treatment (offence-related and mental health) to support women with a history of trauma, including domestic violence.
* Manage a caseload, which may include co-facilitating an offence-related group with a psychologist and/or individual work.
Essential Qualifications and Competencies
* A recognised Level 7 qualification (QQI) preferably in a relevant human science discipline or equivalent in a health and social care profession or health-related profession.
* Hold a degree or post-graduate qualification in counselling or psychotherapy recognised by one of the following: the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), a relevant body within the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP) or the Irish Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (IABCP).
* Have full accredited membership with one of the following: IACP, IABCP or a relevant body within ICP.
