Role Profile
We currently have an opportunity for a Customer Manager – Food Service to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the commercial strategy and managing business development, sales, and marketing functions within the food service sector. You will bring a strong background in commercial management, with a focus on maximizing revenue and profitability, fostering key relationships, and ensuring the company meets its financial and operational goals.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth.
Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development, etc.).
2. Sales and Business Development:
Lead and manage the sales team to meet sales targets and ensure consistent growth.
Identify and develop new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products, and services.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners.
3. Financial Management:
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
Analyse sales, revenue, and cost reports to monitor performance and ensure financial targets are met.
Oversee pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
4. Marketing and Brand Management:
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
Ensure the brand message is strong and consistent across all channels and marketing efforts.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
5. Operations and Supply Chain Management:
Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to ensure product availability and quality.
Optimize supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
6. Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Customer Manager or similar role within the food service or dairy industry.
3. Strong background in sales, business development, and project management.
4. Experience in managing budgets and financial planning.
5. Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills.
6. Strong project management and team management abilities.
7. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
8. Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
Knowledge
1. In-depth understanding of market research and data analysis.
2. Familiarity with the latest industry trends and competitive landscape in the dairy food service sector.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain and operational management.
4. Results-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
5. Strong commercial acumen and business sense.
6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
7. High level of integrity and professionalism.
8. Hybrid working with ability to commute to the Citywest office at least twice per week.
