The role The Commercial Department at Emerald Airlines is made up of various teams that work across a variety of business aspects. Our prime objective is to drive revenue and maximise profits. We do this through informed capacity planning and analysis, intelligent and skilful pricing initiatives, collaborative relationships and a firm eye on our cost base. The Route Analyst will be responsible for developing tactical and strategic pricing initiatives to maximise overall passenger revenue and align with company objectives. They will monitor competitive pricing environment and ensures that Emerald Airline's fares are appropriately positioned. In addition, this analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining our suite of commercial reporting tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of routes across our network. This will require the person to have an in-depth knowledge of their market and to have the ability to adjust the routes accordingly to meet the load factor and yield targets. The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of the relationship between price and volume and supply and demand.
Key responsibilities
1. Manage and ensure the delivery of the revenue budget for your flight portfolio by maximising revenue per seat on a flight by flight basis.
2. Continuously monitor, analyse and create performance data and respond with the appropriate inventory actions to achieve the Revenue Budget.
3. Maintain detailed awareness of competitor pricing, scheduling and promotional behaviour across your portfolio.
4. Develop overbooking profiles to minimise inventory spoilage and denied boarding costs through analysing post departure data.
5. Identify and pursue capacity deployment opportunities to support the overall network revenue.
6. Contribute to the continuous enhancement of Revenue Management expertise within the department, participating in and contributing to training, reviews and workshops.
7. Support operational and other commercial areas in disruption situations.
About You
1. A 3rd level qualification in Aviation Management / Business or relevant work experience.
2. Strong commercial, numerical and analytical skills.
3. Good working knowledge of Revenue Management theory and software.
4. Experience in creating data reports, spreadsheets and databases.
