IT Support Technician
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to join our team at {company}, a leading distributor of chilled foods throughout Ireland.
Job Summary:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a broad range of systems and technologies, developing a skillset in all areas of IT. As an IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that our systems are maintained and supported to the highest standards.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. First Point of Contact: Serving as the first point of contact for IT support within our multi-site organisation.
2. Process Support Calls: Process support calls and promote the use of our Helpdesk.
3. Prioritise and Manage Tickets: Prioritising and managing several open tickets and mini projects at one time.
4. Resolve Issues: Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
5. Support Users: Supporting people whenever they encounter challenges with technical equipment and network devices.
6. Knowledge Sharing: Knowledge sharing to enable end users to understand how and why certain issues have evolved.
7. Investigate and Diagnose: Investigating, diagnosing and solving software and hardware issues.
8. Document Technical Knowledge: Documenting technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals.
9. Maintain Hardware and Software: Ensuring the organisation's hardware and software is adequately maintained.
10. Repair Equipment: Repairing equipment and replacing parts.
11. Install and Configure: Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners.
12. Scheduled Maintenance: Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades.
13. Identify Improvements: Identifying and suggesting possible improvements on procedures.
14. Set up Accounts: Setting up accounts for staff, ensuring appropriate access rights are assigned to both systems, facilities and security systems.
15. Train Users: Ensuring users receive introductory system training while promoting best practice.
16. Manage Licences: Assigning and managing Office 365 user software licences.
17. Manage Communication: Ensuring mobile communication sims and smartphones are managed, maintained and comply with security policies.
18. Maintain Phone System: Maintaining phone system, voicemail and cordless handsets.
19. Manage Stocks: Managing stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies.
20. Create Reports: Creating and maintaining ODBC Reports.
21. Ensure Reliable Transmission: Ensuring the reliable transmission of EDI.
22. Implement IT Strategy: Assisting the IT Manager with implementing the IT strategy.
23. Carry out Weekly Tests: Carrying out weekly fire alarm testing throughout the premises.
