About the Role
This is a key position within our organization, responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all employees and stakeholders on construction sites. As a Health & Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment and contributing to the success of our projects.
Main Responsibilities
* Implement and maintain the company's safety management system, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
* Contribute to the delivery of successful projects, working closely with site management and other stakeholders.
* Monitor and enforce the implementation of the Health & Safety management system, identifying and addressing site-specific hazards.
* Assist site management in complying with statutory Health & Safety requirements and coordinate the safe systems of work for contractors.
* Conduct regular Health & Safety audits and address non-conformances, completing accident and incident investigations as necessary.
* Identify training needs on site and provide guidance to personnel and contractors to ensure they are competent in Health & Safety procedures.
Requirements
* A minimum of 4 years' experience in managing safety systems in construction, preferably with a relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to leverage key relationships across the project spectrum.
* Experience in managing risk and implementing control measures, with the ability to chair and deliver Health & Safety meetings and presentations.
Desirable Qualifications
* Membership of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) is highly desirable but not essential.
