Objective
The principal objective of the post is to participate in the development, direction, teaching, facilitation and examinations of the undergraduate teaching programme.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Contributing to the clinical teaching programme in the senior cycle programmes.
Contributing to the assessment of students in senior cycles programmes.
Liaising with heads of department, project leaders for clinical competence and other relevant faculty members in planning, delivering and evaluating teaching programmes.
Providing resources and communication with student groups via the RCSI virtual learning environment.
Delivering the curriculum at a number of sites e.g. assigned hospitals, RCSI Campus.
Assist in drafting exam questions under the direct supervision of the Head of the department and Professors.
Coordinating exam standard setting.
Assisting with student exams.
Grading and recording of student coursework e.g. logbook and online quizzes.
Candidate Specification
The successful candidate should:
* Possess evidence of registration with the Irish Medical Council.
* Possess a keen interest in lecturing and interacting with undergraduate students.
* Possess excellent communication skills.
Desirable:
* Previous experience using E-learning/VLE systems.
* Previous experience of teaching and assessing students in an academic environment.
* Previous experience in research.
* Completed at least 4 years of clinical experience post-internship.
* MRCPI / MRCSI or equivalent.
